Hello everyone and welcome to our website.

This year, Faces will not be hosting a photo/video contest due to the size and popularity of the event. We have grown so large in terms of number of entries and hits to our site that has required us to restructure, rebuild and form alliances to continue the quality and service needed to keep the contest operating at a high level. Over the coming weeks and months we will be rebuilding the site in ways that make it more interactive such as larger galleries, social media and content. We are looking to form alliances with various arts organizations, businesses and schools in hopes of creating an open source platform for people to share their photos/videos, content and media with each other as well as the community. If you have ideas or would like to participate in helping brainstorm and envision ways to make the site more innovative and interactive we would love to hear from you. You can leave a comment below or shoot us an email.

Some facts:

At the end of year # 8 Faces of Evanston had over 250 photos submitted, almost doubled from the prior year.

2)The traffic to the site had reached a pace greater then most business and arts organization in Evanston which is remarkable for a site only active for 1/2 the year.

3) Participation from students, businesses, visitors both national and international are driving the site to its all time high with regards to entries and website hits

4) We have tshirts, cups and water bottles that have been designed by last years interns

What our wish list is for next year?

1) A marketing committee

2) A Curator to manage the content

3) A technology team team that helps with innovation for the website

4) A social media team

5) A finance committee

Our long term vision is to have a “Faces of Chicago”, “Faces of America”,” Faces of Africa”, etc. Through photos and videos we hope to link communities and people through the talent and creativity of everyday people who want to share the beauty of their community in hopes of creating links that bind us all as one human race.

The traveling exhibit for the 2011/2012 season is being hosted for the month of November at St. Francis Hospital/Resurrection Heath Care www.sfh.reshealth.org at 355 Ridge in Evanston. St. Francis Hospital is a premier healthcare facility in the Evanston community for over 110 years. They have been recognized by HealthGrades® with dozens of Distinguished Hospital Awards, Excellence Awards and 5-Star Ratings, placing them among the top hospitals in the nation. St. Francis has long supported the needs of the Evanston community and we are honored they have chosen to showcase the “Faces of Evanston” for the staff and community in their cafeteria.

Faces of Evanston Traveling Exhibit at First Bank and Trust on Church

The “Faces of Evanston” traveling exhibit for 2012/2013 has moved to the First Bank and Trust on Church St. until October 31. The photos can be viewed from the windows of the bank along Church St. First Bank and Trust has support the event since its conception and has long exemplified community outreach and service. We at Faces would like acknowledge and thank First Bank and Trust for its support.

The Faces of Evanston begins it’s tour for the 2012/2013 year at First Bank and Trust at 2925 Central St. branch from October 1, 2012 until October 15, 2012. The event will then move to the First Bank and Trust at 820 Church St. from October 15, 2012 to October 31, 2012. Please fallow us as we travel around the City and see the photos taken of our amazing community.

“Faces of Evanston” winners for 2012

We at “Faces” would like to congratulate our winners for this years event. Our winners were recognized with an amazing reception at Noyes Cultural Arts Center. The event started at 5pm with the Evanston Symphony playing in the background serenading the audience and creating a welcoming atmosphere. Food and drink was plentiful and yummy due to donations from Whole Foods and Cathy Kozlarek with Coldwell Banker. With a welcoming venue at Noyes and a superbly done display of the winning photos the winners were announced.
